This listing is for 1 Rare El Bumpo Cherimoya Starter Tree App 10-14″El bumpo cherimoya is a green and bumpy cherimoya variety which is considered as a “fruit that tastes heaven” along with the other cherimoya varieties. The El Bumpo tree produces large fruits that have incredible and creamy taste. This is among the 15 cherimoya varieties included in the tasting taste held at UC South Coast Research and Extension Center attended by UC Master Gardeners and members of California Rare Fruit Growers. In Los Angeles area, this variety blossoms from May to end of June, self-pollination but with hand pollination, it will make more fruits and beautiful shapes, harvesting during late fall from Oct to Dec. Fruits are very large; some as big as more than one pound. The seeds are smaller than those of other variety, fruit meat is white, cream, sweet and taste very good. It will grow in tropical and sub-tropical zone. If you are looking for a cherimoya tree to plant in your garden, this variety will be your first choice.The last picture is from my buyer “waynher” with the following message, who is not in tropical area and brought a little tree from me:New message from: waynher (306)Hi , Here’s an update on the Annona . It’s planted in a 6″ wide x 8″ deep pot with good quality potting soil mix with extra sand added and I haven’t watered it since i planted it . I have kept it on a seedling heat mat at 75 degrees and under good quality florescent grow lights on a timer ( 14 hours light) . Only the largest leaf stayed on the plant and it’s slowly drying up . The stem and nodes have swollen since I planted it and today I see a tiny new leaf growing. It’s still indoors, but will be moved into a shady spot in the greenhouse next week. It’s not much to see , but I’m very happy !Bigger tree or cutting may be available in my other listing. Cuttings are suggested to be used for grafting. If you know how to grow plants from cuttings, you can use them otherwise, you are suggested to buy seeds or plants (trees) instead of buying cuttings. Seeds and trees are available in my store.
